Went to Target a couple of weeks ago to buy a new pair of pants. My size 8’s are getting a little lose, so I tried a size 6 and it was too big, so I went and got a size 4 and it fit perfectly! Honestly, I thought there was something wrong… maybe they were mis-labeled, or maybe Merona (the brand) is putting smaller sizes on their pants on purpose to make women feel good about themselves. Then I went to Kohl’s last week and bought a pair of jeans…. again in a size 4!  (Hurry up, kids, and finish that Halloween candy before I have to move into the gym to keep fitting into those size 4’s!)
Btw. taking a picture of the tag while wearing the pants is a workout in itself!

While in the Houston area last month, we went to visit my boy friends, Ben and Jerry (shhh, don’t tell Greg! ).

A strange little flower, found blooming in the Dallas Arboretum at the end of August.

Her age group doesn’t have goalies, but she’s really good at kicking that ball out in the last second and keeping the other teams from scoring.

Mmh-mmh, good!

Now you can’t say that I never post any pictures of myself!

They got to go Trick-or-Treating… three times!… since they more or less co-operated for pictures.
Friday night was our town’s downtown trick-or-treat and they got tons of candy! I had to carry Sara’s bag home for her because it got too heavy for her. Threw most of the crap candy away and kept the chocolate for the kids and some other things for me and Greg. (Melissa is getting braces soon and has spacers right now, and Sara has stainless steel caps on some of her teeth, so they can’t have gum and other sticky candy anymore).
Then Saturday afternoon was the Fall Carnival at Sara’s school, and Saturday evening some friends invited us to Trunk-or-Treat at their church. Believe it or not, I actually left the camera at home all three times! Just took a few pictures before we left.

Messed up the settings (aka wasn’t paying attention to my settings) on this one and had to convert because it was overexposed. It’s an outtake, but it’s a keeper!

Sara wanted to wear her Minnie Mouse costume from last year (and the year before) again, and Melissa will be a vampire. Hopefully they will cooperate and let me take some pictures in their costumes! But I have the perfect blackmail material…. “no pictures, no candy!!” Right?
These are the pumpkins they painted. Sara went on a class field trip to the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago and got to pick out a small pumpkin to take home.

It seems that I fooled you all!!
The picture I posted on Saturday wasn’t the moon at all, but the sun! I took the picture somewhere in Houston, on our way back to Dallas. It was cloudy/foggy, and the way the clouds/fog were covering the sun helped make it look like the moon. That, and underexposing.
Settings for Saturday’s photo were ISO 200, f-8, 1/4000s.

Here is another one from that day. I like the way the sky turned out, but the brightness of the sun probably wouldn’t have fooled anyone into thinking this was the moon. Settings for this one were ISO 200, f-11, 1/8000s.

The Johnson Space Center in Houston has some great mirrors. They show no distortion whatsoever! Nope, none at all!
(But please remember that the camera adds 10 pounds!)
