Black Friday
Who is going shopping today (went shopping)? It’s 5:30 am and I’m already back from Wal-Mart….. wow… it was a MADHOUSE!!!!! I left just before 5 am because I thought they opened at 5, but they must have opened earlier than that because the store was PACKED!!! I fought my way to the back of the store and got the girls each a Nintendo DS game (last copy of both titles!) and then picked up a pair of jeans for myself. Surprisingly, the lines at the registers weren’t that bad (probably because everyone was waiting in line to get a TV, etc. LOL). There was only one person in front of me at the check-out, so I was in and out of the store in less than 30 minutes.
If anyone is shopping at Wal-Mart, I strongly suggest that you take a sales ad with you if you have one!! NONE of the items I bought came up with the sales price, and the sale prices weren’t marked on the shelves/racks either. Thankfully the person behind me brought his ad and the cashier was able to override the prices. Saved almost $40!!
I’m about to wake Melissa and we’re going to brave the crowds together… just for fun, and without a shopping list. Black Friday really isn’t so bad when you don’t have to stand in line to get a certain item 😉
See, that’s exactly why I don’ go shopping today, all the mayhem and SCAMS!!! I hate it when a store tries to take one over you………Like the other day, I boght a bunch for goldfish for $1.66 a bag. I don’t normally buy them but couldn’t resist the price. So, when they ring up, it’s .20 cents more than it should be. Which, obviously is not a huge difference but if you do the math, for every 5 people buying them, it’s a buck in their pocket. Grrrr. Then I had to wait for the overrride, another cashier, etc. So embarassing for 20 cents, lol but still, it’s the principal.
Anyway, enjoy your day. I’m sure you’ll have fun enjoying some mother/daughter bondig.

Shawn and I used to always do a ton of black Friday shopping pre kids…it was so much fun. We made a whole day of it. Now, there are years we shop and years we don’t…. it’s just not as fun when one is home with the kids and the other is out shopping.
Hope you and M have fun!!! I am going shopping later too… we can compare our deals later!

I did it a few times with my mom, but haven’t in years. I know other friends LOVE it, live for it. Hope you and Melissa had a nice time!

We did have fun! I woke Melissa at 6 am to get ready, and he headed to Target first, bought breakfast at their bakery and sat in the snack bar to eat. Then we walked around the store (bought the cutest Christmas ornaments! Not on sale, but who cares). Then we went next door to Michaels before heading to the mall where our first stop was the Nestle Tollhouse Cafe for some iced coffee for me and a cookie for Melissa. Then we browsed through Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle, and made Build-a-Bear Workshop our last stop where Melissa built a puppy for Sara (for Christmas). I had a $10 reward certificate that I had promised Melissa, but of course completely forgot to print it out. So we went home to get it, and back to Build-a-Bear so Melissa could build an animal for herself, too. She picked a white and blue bear with a blue nose. We were home again by about Noon, and spent the rest of the day at home.

I hate shopping. But sometimes Black Friday is exciting and fun for us. I got to go with my best friend too, so that was nice;)
Glad you had a nice time. How fun to get to go with M too. I never really shopped with just my Mom. Sounds like fun.
