that looks fantastic. NOT having the ice, but the picture. I wanted to show some of our ice like this, but it is so hard being here with the girls while dh is working. It sleeted here all day and night and everything is ice here.

  8. Wow! Very nice shot! It is very strange to me to see ice hanging off of green leaves though! We get icy bare branches, no green. We are in the middle of an ice storm right now. School was cancelled, and we’re still hanging out in our PJ’s. πŸ™‚

  10. Well… maybe ice storm is a little dramatic. It was freezing rain, and not even enough to delay the school openings or send the kids home early.

Kristie, I hope your weather didn’t get to bad! Do you still have ice now? Hope you can sneak outside for a few minutes to take some pictures.

    Cheryl… πŸ˜›

KD, keeping my fingers crossed for you that the ice stops soon and that you won’t lose power!

  11. Cool you got ice! Bet you had fun. This is a cool shot. Reminds me of a hand with the ice being loooong claw-like fingernails. LOL.

  12. Neat! So were the leaves tilted or did the ice actually freeze up slanted like that? Crazy!

    7. January, 2009 at 18:40

  13. Terri, the water actually froze like that. See the line in the background? That’s the top of my fence, and the line is straight πŸ˜‰
I think it froze like that because the leaves are curved.

  14. WOW…I love the ice on the leaves…that is so cool! πŸ™‚ i honestly love your pictures!

  15. Beautiful. Is it a “Hydrangea petiolaris”?

  16. Thank you. That’s a good picture with the Ladybird – or what you call it. Yes it is the plant I mentioned. We call it “Climbing Hortensia” – directly translated from danish.

  17. Well….. I don’t think it is! This is definitely a tree, and not any kind of climing plant. I have a friend who knows a lot about plants and I’ve e-mailed her to aske if she knows what it is.

  18. Carsten, the plant is a Photinia (THANK YOU for your help, Natalie!)
