2009/50: First One
Last week, when I was out with Amber, taking pictures, we stopped at this quilting store here in town because I needed a camera strap cover for my D300. It seemed only fitting that I should take the first pictures with the new camera of the fabric I found. I loved the colors, and what could be more perfect than flowers, right? And, it’s girlie! Greg won’t come near the camera if it has a girlie camera strap cover on it. He has a business trip to NYC coming up in March and had the nerve to ask me if he could take the D300 with him to take pictures!! Um, NO! I offered him the D70s, but I need all my lenses and he would have to stop at B&H to get a lens ( 😉 ). He didn’t seem to like this idea very much, even though I told him I could give him a list to choose from.
Anyway… here’s my find! And not to worry, I bought myself some tulips for my Birthday yesterday, so stay tuned for pictures of them.
We also went out to dinner with friends yesterday, to one of my favorite restaurants. Thanks Amber & family for spending part of my day with me, we really had a great time.
Colors that makes you wake up! And wanna see more.

He won’t go to B&H??? Divorce him.
Ah, kidding…I doubt my wife would go either. Good to know about the girlie camera strap; now I need to find a really cool masculine one to keep my wife away.

Oh, he’ll GO tp B&H…. he just won’t buy me a “souvenir”! 😉
Sorry to tell you this, but the camera strap thing won’t work the other way around. Us women aren’t afraid of any cool masculine ones. LOL

love that fabric!!
why aren’t you coming with him???

Because the kids have school! 😦

I was just going to say come with him!! You could meet me, Dalia, Tara………..maybe Cheryl would fly in………..c’mon, take the girls out of school!!
Sounds like a great day, love the fabric. And it looks sunny and warm, just for you! I read in your other post about your age……….did Greg think you turned 40? Hence the camera?

Nah, I’d rather try to talk him into heading East on vacation this summer. We’ll probably go see the boys anyway, and it will be much warmer then, too 😉
Funny story about my age…. Greg never knows how old he is. You ask him and he says 40-something. He does know his birthdate and that he’s 3 years older than me. Well, I guess he was too lazy to do the math, and since he doesn’t know his age unless he does the math, he just believed me when I (jokingly) told him that I was turning 40…. and he got me a 40th Birthday card. LOL
That’s not why he got me the camera. He was probably sick of my whining, and since I had more than half of the money saved up already, he was nice enough to “surprise” me with it.

Good thinking on sending a camera with him to NY without a lens. I bet the 50mm f/1.4 is on that list if you don’t have one already. Or maybe the new 35mm f/1.8 though not sure it’s in stock yet.
Anyway, too bad he didn’t go for it. Nice try!!!!
You got any manly fabrics for us guys? I like the idea of not advertising the camera I have by the strap.

Wrong on both lenses! I thught about the 50mm, but since I have the 60mm macro, a 50mm can wait a while. The lenses that ARE on my list are the 18-20mm, and the 16mm fisheye (that one would be FUN!)
Sorry, no manly fabrics. The soccer one is the closest I have. Let me know what you have in mind and I can look for something, or just a solid color?

Love the fabric, it’s very pretty. I need to stop by the fabric store to look for some fun dot fabric. LOL about a camera with no lens. After he just surprised you you can’t throw him a bone and send him with just 1 lens?
Are you heading up this way this summer? If so, me, you and Amy better get together!!!!

I love your camera strap it turned out so pretty!
We had a great time a dinner last night. We will have to get together again sometime soon. 🙂

Oh ya, if you are headed this way, I’m in.
Love the fabric. Very pretty.
Fisheye sounds like so much fun! I bet you would be so creative with that!
