2009/51: Stir Crazy

I swear, you can’t take that man anywhere!!
Greg has been home sick since Wednesday of last week. He’s been watching TV, reading, watching TV, watching TV, playing on the computer, watching TV shows online, going through his work e-mails and deleting spam, and doing some of his soccer coach duties. He even read my blog again (for the first time since JULY!!!! – not counting the few posts about my car).
Yesterday he wanted to go to Wal-Mart for some ice packs and a stop watch for soccer (why do you need a stop watch for soccer? Never mind…), and he wanted to look atย  the Wii. He’s been thinking of getting one for a while, and he said he was going stir crazy, sitting at home all the time (mowing the lawn just didn’t sound like fun, even though it REALLY needs to be done!).ย  He assured me that he wasn’t going to buy a Wii yet, he just wanted to look at them. I should have known better…. and I’m sure his bonus from work was already burning a hole in his pocket, even though he didn’t officially have it yet, because about $350 later, we walked out of the store with a Wii console, a second remote (which came with more games) and a second nun-chuck.

2009-051

At least heย did buy the ice packs and stop watch, too!

LOL!! You’ll love it!! It is the greatest thing in the house on a rainy or snowy day!

  2. No, for me, that would be the computer.
What are snowy days???? My camera would be the best thing on one of those! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, now, didn’t you just get a brand spankin’ new, one you’ve been dreamng about, camera? Fair is fair, lol!!!!

We have it too…………the boys love it. We just got the wii fit, they love that too. I need to start using it more. What do the girls think?

  4. Okay, first off, poor YOU for having to deal with a sick husband in the house!! Somehow they are always sicker than we are, even when we have the exact same thing at the same time!!! LOL
But you will love the Wii. We’ve had ours for over a year, and the novelty still hasn’t worn off. We play as a family quite often, and it’s a lot of fun. The favorite at the moment is Mario Kart…get two more wiimote sets and four wheels and you will have a blast racing each other! ๐Ÿ™‚ My hubby and the girls loved playing Zelda together…addictive and they logged over 100 hours finishing it, but really neat. And one of the girls’ favorites is My Sims. Enjoy!

  5. Hey, the camera does NOT count!!! Now, if he brings back (orders) a “souvenir” from B&H, that would be different ๐Ÿ˜‰

The girls are both excited about the Wii. Melissa has been wanting one ever since she got to try it at a friend’s house. The very first thing that came out of Sara’s mouth this morning when I woke her up was “I’m glad we got a Wii”

KD, THANK YOU!!! Yes, they’re always on death’s door no matter what they have, aren’t they? (I’m going to pay for this comment! LOL)
Good thing about the Wii is that they can play all their GameCube games on it, too.

I remember the Wii—its that game that I played once when we got it and that I have really not played since. In fact, the tv it is connected to, I don’t think I have watched for a long while.
Good luck to you. Thank God you have a camera!!

  7. Uh-oh, guess the novelty HAS worn off!

  8. We got our Wii from Nintendo World in NYC on the day it was released, over 2 years ago… the novelty hasn’t worn off in my house either. Mario cart is totally fun, we got that this past summer, rock band has been a big hit, wii fit is great too!

Wow, Greg got a bonus…how nice for him. I thought all companies did away with them right now due to the crappy economy.

What I really want to know is if he is home sick, shouldn’t he be home. If he is well enough to go shopping, isn’t he well enough to go to work? ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey I want to play Tennis with you! It’s fun for the whole family and I did refrain from buying the Monopoly game they have.

    20. February, 2009 at 08:18

  10. Monopoly for you and a new lens for me! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Buy some tennis rackets and balls, find out how to get a tennis court by the highschool, and I’ll play some REAL tennis with you!

  11. Hey….leave the poor guy alone. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, if you need to get away, check out the latest assignment I posted this morning. Give you a chance to find out what your camera can do.

    20. February, 2009 at 08:23

  12. Poor guy? What poor guy?? LOL
I saw your assignment. I’ll dare my readers later today, maybe that will get you a few more participants.

I am like him in a way. I say “I just want to look at the camera stuff” and before I know it I have something new. lol

  14. You will LOVE the Wii if you don’t already. I know I love mine.

    20. February, 2009 at 10:04

  15. That sounds just like something my husband would do. I’m expecting this to happen after we finish our taxes and my daughter’s broken arm is finished healing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  16. WII Congratulations!! I am sure you will have fun creating yourself a MII, or to see all the other MII`s come running.
We have had the WII since the day it was released in Denmark, some years ago. WII fit is by the way a great tool, we have that, too. I have to try it one day ๐Ÿ˜‰

  18. plainmama

They have any board game you could want.

You will love it Michaela. At least I do. Matt and I have played it and the kids still haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. It is so much fun!

  19. I don’t know Amy…. I’m just not into video games. I have a Nintendo Gameboy (one of the original ones!!!) from way back and the only game I ever play on it is Tetris. Hey! Maybe there’s Tetris for the Wii?? THAT I might play!

    20. February, 2009 at 14:04

  20. I think you might grow to like it, LOL. It is fun, we enjoy it as a family. Hey maybe I should pick up Monopoly for the Wii and you and I can play sometime. ๐Ÿ™‚ lmbo!

    20. February, 2009 at 18:27

  21. Monopoly? You must be talking to Greg! LMBO

    20. February, 2009 at 18:33

  22. I think there is a tetris, Mic! That would be fun! Brooke & Kayla got one for Christmas and I spent the day watching them play. Never was inspired to actually get up and join them ๐Ÿ˜€ Maybe it will keep them busy and out of your hair?!

    24. February, 2009 at 08:49

  23. Ooohh, I have to look for Tetris then!!
Yes, the Wii keeps all three of them out of my hair, so that IS a good thing!
