2009/53: From The Archives
Spring soccer season is about to start and today is the first day of practice. Sara is so excited to be playing soccer again and I thought I would dig up a picture from the archives… from way back when she was still only dreaming to play soccer one day.
This was taken on September 17, 2005 when Sara was about 2 1/2 years old. Melissa was 9 years old at the time and this was her second season, playing soccer.
This year, Sara is starting her third season, and her team’s uniform looks just like Melissa’s, except that it is purple. Sara is no longer #12 this season, but #99.
I posted some videos of her last year, from when she found her love for soccer.

ah…for the first time in 3 years we skipped spring soccer to concentrate on swimming. I miss it.

Awwww!! This is ADORABLE!!! Love everything about it, esp how they’re step is identical! Too cute! Good luck Sara……….is Mel playing this year too?

burstmode, there’s always next spring… I’m glad Sara wanted to play again, I would have missed it, too.
Doreen, no, Melissa isn’t playing. Too much school related stuff going on for her, and I don’t thik she ever REALLY had fun at soccer, even though she wanted to play in the past. Her heart just wasn’t in it. I’d like to find something else for her that’s not sports related. Sara is definitely the more athletic one.

So, did Sara pick 99 in honor of Melissa? That is so sweet. What does Melissa think of Sara now carrying on her soccer number?
Look how little Sara is! That made me so happy to see her so tiny and all those curls!!

It’s twice a year here, too, although right now it looks like by the time the soccer association has their act together for the spring season, it will be time to start the fall season!!
Amy, Sara actually wanted #100, but I don’t think they do triple digit numbers on the jerseys, so she picked 99…. and I don’t think Melissa cares much one way or another.
I miss those curls 😦

Oh this is so sweet! I remember Sara with all that flowy and curly hair! Wow! It goes so fast!
