2009/120: Northern Catalpa
This flower is from a tree in our backyard. The leaves on this tree are huge, and the flowers (to me) look almost like orchids. Unfortunately the flowers don’t last long (so Amber, you better hurry over here with your camera if you want pictures!)
By the way, this picture was taken with my new toy (an extension tube) attached between the 60mm macro and the camera body.
wow, the color is so detailed. Hmm, extension tube……………does that work for any lens?

Yup, sure does, Doreen! I bought the Pro-Optics brand vs. the Kenko. Supposed to work just as well, for less money. But be warned, auto-focus won’t work with these.

AF will work with the Nikkor tubes but for macro, I manually focus anyway. That is a beautiful flower and well captured.
