2009/150: Tomboy
aka Sara.
Didn’t take her long at all to tear up her brand new sandals. They were only about two weeks old, and she only wore them every other day at school, because on PE (gym) days, she wears tennis shoes.

She HAS some! (Tearing them up, too)
The school wants them in their “Sunday best” for the Kindergarten celebration, which meant buying her a dress and sandals. Of course she loves the sandals so much, that she wants to wear the as often as possible (on days that she doesn’t have gym or when it doesn’t rain). I finally told her that she couldn’t wear them anymore until the last day of school LOL.
Thankfully I found some jellies at Old Navy, that she will be able to wear at school because they have a strap in the back.

I like the photo but its the peace symbols that get me. I remember when the symbol first appeared, it was a sign of rebellion and change. It is funny how the symbol has evolved into decoration. Sort of like the ubiquitous Che t-shirt that the Obamites hijacked for their campaign (not meant as a political statement, just another example of how symbols evolve).

Great photo in its simplicity and ability to yet convey its message. Very well done!
