Please forgive the selective dyslexia 😉

Tonight is the night we finally get to drink this! Ice wine from Germany!
(We bought it before Christmas and planned on drinking it Christmas Eve, but then forgot all about it)

And what am I going to drink it out of? Well, this glass of course! Thanks Daneen, Brian and David for this cool birthday present! I might have to start collecting these! 😉

It even has a recipe on the bottom

  2. Thanks Doreen 🙂
The wine glass was a pretty special gift.
From my best friend in Germany I got a “Steiff” bear, a birthday cake scented candle, a CD, CHOCOLATE!!!, and tea.
Greg didn’t get me anything (yet), except for a card. He said he had no clue what to get me, and since he’s taking the day off today, he was going to take me and pick something out. I told him about the books on my wish list (on the Gear page), so he can put an order in at later 🙂
Sara made me a sweet birthday card and a bracelet.
Plans today…. we have to run an errand or two, then I’ll drag him to some of my favorite stores just for fun, and we’re going to eat lunch at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. (Amber & hubby were supposed to meet us there for lunch, but unfortunately his schedule changed and he no longer has Thursdays off 😦 )

You are very welcome. Is that a peanut butter cup cheesecake I see?

  4. Nope (but that sounds GOOD!!), it’s a Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar Cake. Found it at Super Target.

  10. Happy Birthday!!! 24, that sounds nice 😉
When I was in Spain I learned to love red wine with lemon soda, but no cherry. I think any wine with soda would be yummy. Speaking of yummy, wish I could try a bite of that cake!

Happy Birthday!!!! I love you birthday girl glass! You should start collecting these. Or better yet, I bet YOU could start making them. You are creative and a talented painter!

  12. Thanks everyone!
Amy, I was thinking of collecting these glasses, too, there are some really nice ones on the website.

A little update to our day… we left around 9am and had to stop at the orthodontist’s office first to take care of some billing issues (they are seriously overcharging us when they shouldn’t be charging us at all because they were paid in full back in December). Then a quick stop at Saxby’s Coffee for some caffeine…. some Greg-torturing at Bath & Body Works, then Burlington to get Greg a new coat (wait… isn’t it MY birthday?? 😉 )
After that we stopped at Barnes & Noble, and World Market, and then finally BJ’s for lunch where I ate waaaay too much, but it was really, really good! Meatloaf Sandwich, a Margarita, and a (free) Pizookie for dessert. YUM! I might have to skip dinner tonight, though. LOL
On our way home we stopped at the gym, not to work out, but to get Greg’s membership fixed. Now we’re home, waiting for the kids to get out of school and then we might stop at the car dealership because Greg is thinking of trading in my Rogue. NOT going to happen today! I’m not spending my birthday at the dealership, buying a car! Who knows, we may not trade it in just yet, all depends on what the new car payment will be like.

  13. Super post, really fun pictures. Celebrate good times! Have you asked your German friends about feuerzangenbowle?

    Tschuss! Bob.

ps: Danke for adding me to your blogroll.

  14. Thanks, Bob. I grew up in Germany so I’ve heard of Feuerzangenbowle, but never knew anyone who made one.

Your blog is a great one, so of course it had to go on my blogroll 🙂
