2010/128: Ranunculus (3)

  1. The blue background on these really makes these shots! I went back and looked at (1) and (2) postings and, although lovely in their own right, this right here is a prime example of how much the background impacts an image. Yellow and blue – classic combination that never fails!

  2. Thanks Tracy. Would you believe the background in the first is actually my (stainless steel) kitchen sink? The vase was too tall and all I could think of to do, was put it in the sink (which is in front of a window, so that was a bonus) and sit on the edge of the counter to take pictures.
(And you thought your dandelion shot from yesterday was hard! 😉 )

  3. These are beautiful. It was the background compliment that first grabbed my attention, too. I enjoyed seeing the side view of these – I don’t believe I’ve ever seen one of these flowers (other than in your photos). They certainly have a generous number of petals!

Oh WOW beautiful light in that first one! So, this is all natural light from your front window? Gorgeous!

  5. Thanks! Both are natural light, I just can’t remember if the background in the second one is the sink, too, or not.
Blue, I love all the petals, too, and the shape of the flower. Just wait until you see the last of the pictures I have of these (there are a few more ranunculus posts to come 😉 )
