2010/304: Trick Or Treat!

Happy Halloween!
My facebook friends can see more Halloween pictures there 🙂

2010/303: Witch

Cutest witch I’ve ever seen 😉
She picked the costume, and then said “too bad I can’t have red lips like the girl on the picture” and of course I told her that I would let her put on lipstick if she let me take some pictures! It worked, and she even cooperated (for the most part). I just wish her head was tilted down just a tiny bit more so her hat completely covered her left eye.

2010/302: White Miniature Pumpkin

2010/301: Boo!

2010/300

The girls and their decorated pumpkins…. and another case of “hide-from-mommy’s-camera”. Melissa held her pumpkin up, but little did she know, that this made the perfect picture!

2010/299: Pumpkin Decorating

More pictures from the Fall Harvest Festival at Calloway’s Nursery. The kids got to decorate a small (free!) pumpkin for free.

2010/298: Corn

We went to the Fall Harvest Festival at Calloway’s Nursery a few weeks ago. Of course they had lots of pumpkins, gourds, fall flowers, and fall/Halloween decorations for sale, like beautiful colored corn.

2010/297: Mushroom

2010/296: Chocolate

… or actually chocolate-to-be!

2010/295: Gardenia

I love the sweet smell of gardenias… I wish this was scratch-n-sniff.

2010/294: Fishing With Uncle Richie

This was on the day of my nephew’s wedding, sometime after the ceremony. Sara spending some quiet time, fishing with her Uncle Richie.

2010/293: Perfection

The weather has been absolutely perfect those last few weeks… lows in the 50’s and 60’s, and highs in the 80’s. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of the 90’s until sometime late next spring!

2010/292: Water Lilies

2010/291

2010/290: Dew

2010/289: Bitch Bubbly

Found this on display at a wine store at the Mall of America.
Not sure though… is that the antidote, or is that what you turn into when you drink it?
Same with the bottle next to it…. is that for dad to drink on his day off, or will he need the next day off after popping the cork?

2010/288: Portrait Of A Goofball

An old pair of my glasses, and a mustache that she found at the grocery store (still in its original packaging, rolled under the “gumball” machine), and trying not to crack a smile.

2010/287: Portrait Of A Self Portrait

Unfortunately she only took one, and it came out a little out of focus, and she decided not to share it on her blog.

2010/284: Gerbera

2010/283: Wedding Day

My nephew is getting married this afternoon…

… and we all get to dress up! Only problem is, I’m not a high heels kinda girl and even though I own a pair, I’m not used to walking in them. So I’ve been walking around the house in high heels for the past few days, to (hopefully!) make sure I don’t trip over myself today.

2010/281: Memory Lane

These past two months have been full of reconnecting with friends from my childhood and teenage years, thanks to Facebook. It’s a little odd, really, that all these people are popping back into my life all at once, when there’s no connection between them, because some of them found me!
It all started with C., the very first friend I remember having. I’ve known her since I was four! We lived in the same apartment building, her family on the 5th floor, and mine on the 11th floor.  I remember that my mom didn’t like her at all, and I’m pretty sure her mom felt the same about me and my sister, but that didn’t stop us from playing together almost every single day. We lost touch soo many years ago, probably when I was in my early teens, but I thought of her often.
That’s her in the pink shirt, standing in the little “window” on the right. I’m sitting right in front of her.

B., who I met in 10th grade, who unfortunately introduced me to my ex (although, if that hadn’t happened, I never would have met Greg either). We stayed in touch for a while after I moved to the US, lost touch, got back in touch, and then lost touch again for a few years…. until just a few weeks ago.

P., from 7th grade, who played a HUGE part in me flunking and having to repeat the grade because I was too busy daydreaming about him, than concentrate on studying, or what the teachers had to say. It certainly didn’t help matters when we ended up sitting next to each other in class later in the school year. I don’t think he ever knew that I had such a huge crush on him, or he probably would have ignored me more than he did. And if he did know, he never said anything.
This picture was taken by one of my teachers (who I don’t remember) at a field trip to Nördlingen. I was either in 6th grade or 7th grade (the first time! 😉 … and I’m the one in the center)

A. who I met when I was 15, and who lived in the apartment building across from the one where I lived. We’ve been in touch off and on over the years, but the last few years have just been the occasional e-mail and Christmas card.

Then my best friend sent me a list of names from the last class reunion, and even though I couldn’t remember many of their faces, a lot of names were still familiar.
School days…. can’t say I ever liked school, but those were still the good ol’ days 🙂

No trip down memory lane will be complete without remembering my dad. After all, I did inherit the shutterbug genes from him! 😉
He passed away in August 1992 and I still miss him every single day. Today would have been his 66th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad ♥
