That stuff is wicked, but your photos of it are wicked in a good way! I noticed this summer that the MO roadsides had been sprayed in the spots where this has taken over.

I’m wondering if this is “teasle”. When I worked at the living history museum, we used to mention dried teasle as one of the tools for brushing out wool before it was spun into yarn.
This also looks like the perfect picture for today’s photo prompt in my class. I will have to see what I come up with today.
