2011/025: Bonus – Better Late Than Never

Mexican Wedding Cookies.
When I was baking Christmas cookies, Melissa asked if I could make Mexican Wedding Cookies, too, because they are one of her favorites. Unfortunately she didn’t say anything until after I had already planned what I would bake, and I promised to make them some other time.
Yesterday I decided to surprise her, and finally baked them. Who says you can only have Christmas cookies around Christmas, right? My grandmother used to bake sooo many cookies every Christmas, they would last until Easter!

    • She was! I put them into a plastic container, not trying to hide them, but she didn’t see them (Sara noticed the red container, but didn’t say anything), and called both girls into the kitchen after dinner, for some dessert. Should have had the camera ready to capture that huge smile on her face ๐Ÿ™‚
Now she better hurry up and eat them before mommy does! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Love Mexican Wedding Cookies! YUM! I’ve never thought of them, tho, as only for Christmas. But hey, I’m the one who will make iced cutout cookies anytime of year. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • You’re right, they’re not just for Christmas, I just don’t usually bake cookies, except Christmas ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. Heh heh. I’ll bet Melissa wrote up an early request for The Great 2011 Cookie Baking. Those look so meltingly delicious that I should not even be looking at them.
