I would say either a disk drive for a computer or a DVD player.. Nice macro subject.

I’m going with hard drive, because of the ports in the first shot.

DVD player was the correct answer! It was 9-10 years old and starting to make strange noises, so we finally replaced it (with a Blu-Ray Player).
