Very cool, and much better than i can do, I gave up drawing, it takes too much practice. One thing I look forward to when I have kids is art/craft stuff… until then i will have to just settle for being the cool crafty/artsy aunt. I can live with that

How great are these.. She certainly has talent… and do you want to know something spooky… The sketch I’m working on right now is a dragon too… I bought a book of dragons for inspiration about a month ago, but I’m yet to complete any sketches…
Oh I think you should definitely join the fun… Go for it and sketch up a dragon too… I for one would love to see it, and the friendly competition will give me even more incentive to finish mine.. π
How beautiful these are. I love how graceful she drew these dragons. It’s funny, but when I was young I used to draw dragons all the time! Fire-breathing western-style dragons. I never tried eastern dragons though. These are really special π
my favorites are the eastern dragons. they’re more…graceful than their western counterparts, but i like all dragons! and now i can draw them almost exactly how i saw them in my head, too!:)
Wow, she is a talented artist! Very admirable. I can barely draw a stick figure.

I used to draw a little when I was a teen (still have one picture that I saved, and it’s hanging in the dining room), but I wasn’t as good as Melissa.

She is very good. Like the colors in the first and the pose in the second.
She understands composition and portraiture.

Now THAT she gets from her mother! π

Wow – fantastic! Did she make this guy up or get inspiration from a picture? Very fanciful!
12. March, 2011 at 07:59
She has a book or two with dragons in it π

she is reaaly talented…..does she take any classes?
12. March, 2011 at 08:52
No art classes right now (she’s going to try and sign up for next school year), but she has a book that teaches her how to draw dragons.

Great job Melissa! I have a daughter that like to draw dragons too. She may even have the same book as you.

I thought of you when I scheduled this post, Deanna π
The book is called “DRAGONART How to draw fantastic dragons and fantasy creatures”

These are fabulous Melissa! She definitely has your artistic eye, Michaela! I hope she always finds her creative outlet!

How interesting! You will HAVE to share when you finish them, I’d love to see them, and I’m sure Melissa will, too.
13. March, 2011 at 16:24
I will.. especially as now I have a reason to finish them.. π
13. March, 2011 at 16:38
Ha! This might turn into a dragon-drawing contest between you and Melissa! π
13. March, 2011 at 16:41
I drew the cover of “Eragon” once for my daughter – maybe I can join the fun! π
