2011/226: Cars Under The Stars – Part 1

Dragged everyone to a car show Talked everyone into going to a car show a couple of weeks ago, and even though it was over 100 degrees F and the kids were whining about not wanting to go, it was still fun…. although a little disappointing to see so many “classics” and not really “antiques”.

  1. How fun! That VW bus is my dream car!! There is a guy down the street from me that drives an awesome one on dry days (which we have had a LOT of lately I might add)!! Good to hear from you and hope things are looking up. GREAT photos of the classics!

#2 and #4 are my favorites. Have the temperatures improved at all?

  3. Excellent car shots. At first I thought I was reading a post from funkyslug or Scott!

According to the Antique Automobile Club of America, an antique car is a vehicle that is at least 25 years old. And, n general, a classic car is one that has stood the test of time and whose value is no longer depreciating.

Up until a yeart ago, we owned a 1968 Ford Mustang – an antinque AND a classic! 🙂

  4. Thanks, everyone… there has been a slight improvement in temps, but the highs are still 100 or slightly above.

Tracy, thanks for the info. I think of cars from the 40’s or earlier as antiques 🙂
MY favorites are from the 20’s or earlier.

  10. I am more into classic cars and hot rods. Though I do love a good winged car from the 50’s.
