2011/303: Sulphur Spring

Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Got real close to the water to get these shots, and lets just say the smell wasn’t exactly pleasant. The sacrifices we make for the sake of a few pictures…

  1. My brother used to live in a house that had sulfur in the tap water… not very pleasant is a modest statement… especially taking a shower in the stinch!!

does it smell like rotten eggs? we had something in our water at our old farmhouse, every once and awhile it had this terrrible smell.

  3. What a lovely frothy enticing sulphur spring! I once visited Oja Caliente, New Mexico, where they had baths with many different waters. One was sulphur, another was–arsenic. I swear it. I like the blue in your first pic, a lot.
