As a bit of useless information: There is a tiny don’t blink burg called Burr Oak in the county where I live… I believe they did name this place after your bur acorn.

oh wow, I’ve never seen an acorn like this…I guess this is the stage prior to becoming all brown? I’m such a technical nature lover, huh? 😉

I love their crazy “hair”! I have never seen these! Do they end up looking like a regular acorn, like Doreen said, or do they fall off the tree in this form?
