2011/322: Mount Scott

The best part of Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge.

The view on the drive to the top

At the top

Playing around in the (thankfully mostly empty) parking lot at the top of Mount Scott. This is the highest you can go by car. If you have one of those little Smart Cars, you could probably lift it onto the rocks and get to the true top of the mountain at 2464 ft (751 m) above sea level 😉

oh my gosh, what incredible views!! Is this still in Ok? I am no geography expert, by far, but isn’t Ok mostly flat? like Tx? I was Ok years ago and I don’t even remember seeing hill, lol.

    • Yes, this is still Oklahoma. It’s not quite as flat as TX.

  4. Oh, wow! Love the view from the top and the little purple asters. Beautiful! I’m laughing at the name, Mt. Scott, why not Mt. Jim or Mt. Bob?

  6. The flower photo made me suddenly homesick for summer. And it’s too soon for that to happen. Nice photos, Michaela.

  9. Wow – I can’t get over that sky! When I was about 16, I traveled with my family to Rocky Mountain National Park (that was the last time I’ve seen mountains). I need to do that again someday…..
