2012/044: Light My Heart…

… on fire!

* A big thank you to Brian and his editing skills, for perfecting the edges of the heart. It was a bit sloppy, with matches gone wild in the original!
He wasn’t skilled enough to light my heart, though, the flames were added by me 😉

*edited to add the “before” version:

  1. *Not skilled enough* eh !!.. Lol.. Maybe I’ll remember that next time… 😉 Was quite amusing though, a Canon user having to tidy up a picture taken on a Nikon… And YES, it was definitely the camera that made them look sloppy.. 😉
Do love it though Michaela, and it would look so cool ACTUALLY oon fire too..

  2. Shut up, it was NOT the camera! 😛 And that’s right, NO skills! Didn’t take much to add a few little flames 😉

I think yesterday’s would look better actually lit…. I don’t think you would still be able to make out the heart shape of this one. (Might need a firetruck on standby, too! LOL)

  3. I’m confused….what was edited besides the fire? I would love to see it on fire too…maybe start w/ just lit one here or there and wait for it to grow.

    very concept, love it!

    • Thanks, Doreen 🙂

I added the sloppy “before” version for you.

  4. Once again, I am telling you how clever you are – kind of sounding like a broken record, aren’t I? The color of the match heads is so striking (pun intended) against the white!

The before version was pretty darn good considering how hard that must have been to stand them up in that shape! But the edit definitely tightened them up! I think I may even like the pre-flame version the best!

    • Thanks, Amy. I like the pre-flame version the best, too. Wasn’t that difficult to stand them up, once I figured out how to KEEP them that way without falling over 😉

  6. The flames are very nice. I still wonder what they would have looked like with real flames. I love the heart anyway.

  7. Today and yesterdays pics are both awesome! I think it was much safer to skip the real flames, unless you could set them up in a metal cooking sheet or something.

    • Thanks, Deanna!
This was all done inside, and there was no way I was going to light this many matches 😉
I do plan on trying this outside sometime, though. Most likely with yesterday’s heart, because this one was too much work to get set up.

  8. I love your creative match-hearts – and the fire – it HAD TO come too 😉

  12. Way cool seems like the wrong comment for something on fire, but it is right at the same time! 😉
