Night Sky

The Highschool Melissa goes to had Astronomy Night one night last spring and of course we decided to go. Unfortunately we only had clear skies for a little while before the clouds moved in, but it was still enough time to capture a few photos. I even came armed with my flimsy little tripod.

This little white spot about to disappear behind the clouds is Jupiter

  1. Astronomy is interesting. You feel yourself small, don’t you.
The last image is outstanding. I really like that mood.

Thank you, Michaela for showing me Jupiter. I’ve never seen any of the planets before. Whenever someone tries to show me something in the sky by pointing, I can never figure out what the heck they’re pointing at.

    • LOL it was pretty much the only bright object in the sky, and it was easy to pick out after one of the guys with the big telescopes told us that it was Jupiter. I wouldn’t find it in a sky full of stars! Only things I can pick out on my own are the big dipper, little dipper, and the moon! 😀
