I Wasn’t Going To…

We’re not going to be “home for the holidays” this year, and I wasn’t going to put up our tree…too much work. I’m not one of those people who dig out the Christmas decorations as soon as the Thanksgiving dishes are cleared off the table, and always wait until the week-end before Christmas to set up and decorate the tree. But we’ll be gone almost all of Christmas week and it just didn’t seem worth it. But…as you can see…. I changed my mind. Although I kept the decorating to a minimum and only hung the glass ball ornaments and some jingle bells. Good enough 😉

  1. Beautiful. 🙂 My tree doesn’t go up until Christmas Eve (a tradition I inherited from my mother), and didn’t go up at all this year because we won’t be here.

    • I love that tradition! My parents would always decorate the tree on Christmas Eve (during the day, because we would open presents after dinner). My sister and I were banned from the living room and the first time we’d see the tree was with all the candles lit (yup, we had real candles on the tree, and sparklers!!) and the presents underneath. This is still my favorite childhood Christmas memory. I wish I could do this for my kids, but we don’t have a room…with space for the tree…to close off from the kids.

  2. Wow! How did you get that bokeh in the shape of stars? LOVE IT!!!

    • Thank you! I did it with a star bokeh filter that I ordered from photojojo.com a few years ago.
I placed another order with them yesterday and they gave me a link to share that will give anyone $5 off their order. Not sure when it expires, but here it is (clicking the link will automatically add $5 to your cart and take it off at checkout)
