Sara wanted to chase this one…probably not a good idea!

lol! If you had chased him or her, the worst that could have happened was a loud squawk and maybe a large splat landing on you if he/she had flown over you. I have never seen a heron on the beach. Great captures!

LOL and that big splat is exactly what I’d want to avoid! On me OR her….because if it’s her, I’d be the one to help her clean up. YUCK!
Thanks Robin 🙂

I like these pictures–especially the first one. Thinking about how lovely it would be on a beach right now.

Thank you Kathy…sure would be lovely to be on a beach right now (or any time) 🙂
So cute! The idea of Sara chasing a bird on the beach! The second one looks kinda mean though (if birds can look mean). 🙂
#1 is my fav

Ah, I think he only looks mean because he doesn’t like the wind….may not have been too happy about the cold either LOL
This is northern Florida and it does get pretty chilly there in the winter, but it was a bit colder than normal. There were several mornings when I wasn’t sure if my fingers were still attached to my hand, or if they had frozen and fallen off somewhere 😛

Well I’m sure I would look mean to if I was on a beach and it wasn’t warm 😉
Needs to head over to Socal. Lovely and warm. Never been to Fla. Went to Maryland beach once in summer and it was cold. But I hadn’t headed west yet so I still loved it. I think a beach, warm or cold, is still where I want to be 🙂

Oh you’ll have to try to make it to Florida one day. We were in CA back in 2008 and drove from Carlsbad to San Francisco, and it was beautiful, but to be honest, I like Florida better.

I concur. Griz tried to have a showdown with a blue heron while we were out on a walk one day. Silly dog. Those beaks and feet are not to be messed with. Beautiful photos.

Thanks Daneen….and LOL can I blame that silly dog of yours for putting ideas in Sara’s head? 😉
It was kinda funny when she said “I wanna chase it” and started slowly walking towards it. (“NO!! Don’t chase it!!”)
