2014/024: Birds On The Beach (2)

These little guys were so cute, and so much fun to watch as they ran toward the water, had a little snack, and then ran away as the waves came in….and then did it all over again. Not sure what kind of birds they are, sandpipers??

  2. Very cute! 🙂 I love watching the little birds run too and fro when I’m at the beach. Not sure what they are, but I think you may be right about them being sandpipers of some kind.

    • So do I 🙂 Unfortunately they don’t let you get too close to photograph them (I tried on several days) but this bunch seemed to be in a cooperating mood LOL

  4. Those little birds are so sweet. They must migrate up and down the east coast – they look quite similar to the ones I see in Maine. My best guess after consulting the online bird guide that I use is “semipalmated sandpiper”.

    • That was nice of you to consult the bird guide 🙂
This wasn’t on the East Coast, though, this was the Gulf Coast. I’m trying to remember if I’ve noticed them last summer, at many of the Florida beaches we visited, but I really can’t recall…
