Autumn Splendor
Sometimes there’s a little bit of fall color found in Texas (and it’s mandatory to capture it on “film” 😉 )
2011/343: Fallen
The weirdest thing, seeing a big huge tree drop most of its leaves all at once. Don’t let the yellowish morning sun glow fool you, these leaves were green!
2011/327: Reliable
I can always count on our crepe myrtles to give us a little fall color… until the rain and wind knock off all the pretty leaves.
2011/313: On The Railing
What better place to photograph fallen leaves than on the railing of a wooden bridge?
These were all taken at Red Rock Canyon State Park in Oklahoma.
2011/309: Red Rock Canyon State Park
On day 2 of our recent week-end getaway to Oklahoma, we left the hotel after breakfast and made our way to Red Rock Canyon State Park, on State Highway 8, about 10 miles south of Hinton, OK.
We stopped here for a few minutes to enjoy the view.
This duck (goose?) saw us and came swimming over, hoping to get a little breakfast, and model for a little photo shoot. Sara was taking pictures with her cell phone’s camera.
2011/302: Sulphur, Oklahoma
The kids didn’t have school this past Monday, and Greg took the day off work. I had just gotten some Oklahoma travel guides in the mail, including Oklahoma Fall Foliage Tours.
A long week-end, and the possibility of fall colors…. the perfect excuse reason for a little getaway!
Our first stop was the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, just south of Sulphur.
Yes, the water did have a certain smell to it, but it wasn’t too bad.
2010/333: More Fall
Courtesy of the same crepe myrtle as the previous fall pictures (except the third one, not sure what kind of leaf that is)
2010/320: I *Heart* Fall
Seems that the crepe myrtle in front of my house took pity on me and turned a beautiful red and yellow.
We have several other crepe myrtles and one of them is still mostly green, the leaves on the other one are a dark color… like someone mixed a very dark green and a very dark red together… and the one in the back yard has almost no leaves left.
Needless to say, this crepe myrtle is my favorite.
This is also my contribution to Scott’s current assignment: Autumn. There’s still time to enter your fall pictures.
2010/306: Hint Of Fall
This just might be as good as it gets around here. I still see lots of green trees, or right outside my window is a tree with wilted green leaves, just waiting for the wind to blow them off the tree.
