From bud to bloom.
This is what I really wanted for my Birthday, and I got it… even if it was a week early.
(Meant to post this yesterday, and didn’t have the time, so stay tuned for another bonus later 🙂 )
This technically counts as a vacation picture, too, since I took it on Christmas Day, literally on our way out the door, when we left for Indiana.
Saw this little guy at IKEA last week-end, jumping up and down, and shouting pick me! pick me! … and couldn’t resist.
The first blooms on our massive prickly pear cactus opened up last Sunday.
And to show just how massive it is! If you look closely, you can see three yellow flowers. All the green buds will be more flowers soon.
Here is what the flower looks like on the second day. It won’t open up anymore on day 2.
This is what the flowers on my prickly pear cactus look like on the first day.
One of the many flower buds on my prickly pear cactus. Soon this bud will be a beautiful yellow flower. Each flower only blooms for a couple of days. On the first day it is yellow, by the second day it has turned a pink/peach color, and on the third day it is already wilted.
