2014/052: Karma’s Photo Hunt

Did you enter Karen’s A Blogger Contrived Photo Hunt ? If not, there’s still time, as the due date isn’t until February 25th.
For this photo hunt we were supposed to choose a word, and then look for objects around the house that start with each letter of our chosen word. It sounded easy, but then I had a hard time finding objects to represent the letters.
I chose my name as my word: Michaela (for those of you who didn’t / don’t know 😉 ) and I decided to take two photos for each letter…

M is for Music (OK, not technically an object) and this is my favorite way to listen to it
2014-052 1aM

M is also for Markers (Sara thought of those, because I couldn’t think of anything else LOL)
2014-052 1bM

I is for iMessages…. again, not technically an object, but they’re the only good thing to wake up to when you’re up at Stoopid o’clock. Reading those is the first thing I do after dragging myself out of bed, and having TEN of them waiting for me that morning was a nice surprise (even if they are all from the same person)
2014-052 2ai

I is also for Ivy…. one of the more recent plants I bought. We shall see how long it will survive. I tend to forget to water them. Oops!
2014-052 2bi

C is for Coffee…. the other nice thing when you’re up at Stoopid o’clock!
2014-052 3aC

C is also for Candle. Love them!! This one was on my desk (will be again soon, but it has been temporarily replaced with a different candle) and I light it in the morning when it’s still dark out (you know…at Stoopid o’clock 😉 ) so I don’t have to turn on the light
2014-052 3bC

H is for Hearts…. because I know you all would have been disappointed if I didn’t post any hearts! These are my heart-shaped rocks that I found over the years.
2014-052 4aH

H is also for Herbs, and I’m glad they’re not spelled Erbs, or I might still be looking for another object that starts with H 😛
2014-052 4bH

A is for Apple…. sadly I’m allergic to raw apples, they make my throat itch terribly!
2014-052 5aA

A is for Apple (I know I said that already LOL)
2014-052 5bA

E is for Ear buds…. sometimes those are needed to listen to music.
2014-052 6aE

E is also for Eggs…. which I don’t like at all unless they’re deviled eggs.
2014-052 6bE

L is for Lace
2014-052 7aL

L is also for Letters. I still love it when I get a letter in the mail, how about you? All these are from Germany.
2014-052 7bL

A is for Art…. and I have two talented artists as daughters. 17-year-old Melissa, and 10-year-old Sara. I’m sure you can tell who drew what 🙂
2014-052 8aA

A is unfortunately also for Antihistamine, because Allergy season is right around the corner.

Admit One

It was just me at the movies today to see  Brian‘s ugly twin* (aka Jason Statham) in Parker.
For a while it looked like it was going to be a private screening, just for me, but then some other people showed up (darn…that would have been cool!)
The movie was really good!! I enjoyed it and it was definitely worth the price of a movie ticket (and certainly the matinée price!) I didn’t even mind going to see it by myself. The movie was already added it to our Netflix queue, and it’s going to stay. Not just because Greg wants to see it, but because I want to see it again!

Parker

*of course that’s what HE says….. if you ask me, well…umm.. “No Comment!” There. That’s not going to hurt anyone’s feelings, right?  😉

2012/175: BookBook

I like the BookBook for my iPad so much, it was only natural that I would get a BookBook for my iPhone as well! (Although I found a much better deal on eBay 😉 )

2012/075: BookBook

This was one of my favorite Birthday presents this year… a BookBook iPad case! (Available for other Apple products as well)
The only thing it’s lacking is a hole for the camera, but it’s something I can live with.

2012/073: Bonus – Where Am I?

We left on a little adventure yesterday….can anyone guess where we might be?
Sorry, Brian, you’re not eligible to play 😉 (Only if no one else guesses)

2012/022: Playing With Matches

No matches were lit during this project

This last photo was taken with my iPad…. forgot to take one with my “real” camera.

2012/018: Stylish Stylus

I had this little snowflake charm that still needed a “home”, and I thought clipping it to my stylus would be perfect!
LOVE using the stylus for mt iPad, by the way 🙂

2012/009: Procrastination At Its Finest

Yep, feet up on my messy desk, playing Words with Friends when I should be doing something else… like figuring out the menu for the week and getting the grocery list written.
I was still ahead here, but in the end lost the game by nine points!!! That’s OK, I won the next one by 5 points.  😉

2011/358: Bonus – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Merry Christmas to all my family, friends, and readers who celebrate Christmas today!
We are off to The Olive Garden for dinner, to give Santa a chance to come to our house. I’m sure the girls can’t wait to find out if they’ve been on the naughty or nice list 😉

Photo taken with my iPad

2011/348: Flu Season

Making a trip to the pediatrician for the third week in a row! Two weeks ago it was with Melissa (strep), last week it was with Sara (strep), and this week it was with Sara again! This time she hit the jackpot with strep and the flu! Poor girl. Not sure if the strep is still hanging around, or if she got it again. Thankfully we caught the flu early, and she wasn’t feeling too miserable yet. Just a little tummy trouble, very tired, and not much appetite. With any luck she’ll be back at school on Thursday.

Sara wanted me to bring the iPad so she could play while we waited for the doctor, so this photo was taken with my iPad (Instagram app).
There’s a TV on the wall in every exam room, and she was watching the movie, while trying to ignore the shutterbug in the room.

2011/340: Bonus – It Snowed!!!

It was just a few flakes, but it was still SNOW!
Best.Anniversary.Present.Ever.
(There was snow on the ground the day we got married, too. A bit more than this!)

Photographed with my iPad

2011/339: Bonus – Rain, Rain…

… go away!
It’s been raining since Friday, and we’ve gotten just under 4 inches so far, and it’s still raining (snowing not too far west of us!!!). Seems like Mother Nature is trying to make up for the recent drought in one week-end!

(photographed and edited on my iPad, resized and second border added on PC)

2011/325: {M}iPad

I had some money saved up for a lens… but then decided to spend it on an iPad instead, and have not regretted it.  Such a fun little gadget.
Of course some of my favorite apps are photography related, and I have a few games, too….. and lots of other useful and fun apps. There’s even a WordPress app, which will really come in handy when we’re on vacation.

The only frustrating thing is that the WiFi doesn’t work great in the living room, because the router is two rooms away in the far corner. But I can still Facebook, check e-mails, play Words with Friends, Hanging with Friends, and surf the web from the comfort of my couch, and not have to run into the computer room during commercial breaks.

If you have an iPad or iPhone, what are your favorite apps?
One of my favorites is Flipboard (iPad only). Makes everything (Google Reader, Flickr, Facebook, etc.) look like you’re flipping though a magazine.
Favorite photo apps are Instagram, Photostudio HD, and Photo fx. I have more,  but haven’t really gotten a chance to play yet.

A big thank you to Scott and Becky for answering all my questions 🙂
