Doreen, the “missed shot” was JUST the reflection of the tree in the hood of my car. You can see just a little bit of it in the picture above…just needed to park the car at a different angle. Unfortunately I didn’t see that until I got home.

These are gorgeous! Were you looking and purposefully out to capture this beautiful sunrise or just lucky to have stumbled on it prepared?

Amy, I was awake really early, and kept looking out the window to see if there was going to be a sunrise (having missed a few during the week, because of school)….at the first sign of it I grot dressed as fast as I could and practically ran out of the house. Thankfully I only had to drive about 2 miles to find a good spot to photograph it 🙂

These colors are sooooo pretty! I love the car hood too. Do you need to have a lighter colored car, do you think, to get reflection like that, or would any color work?

My car is dark blue… not sure what the reflection would look like in a lighter color car.

I had to go back and look at the photo after you mentioned missing the tree. That probably would have made for a cool shot, but you’ve still got some amazing colors here!! Maybe that just gives you a good excuse to try it again, huh?? 😉

Lol! If you’d got the car hood/tree shot, it would be so painted panel van-ish! 😀 (Ohh, not sure if you call them panel vans there.. can’t think of the real name?)
The car shot is super, and the series is spectacular. Sunsets and sunrises are often ho hum as photos – you see so many and pics rarely do capture the splendour, but this sunrise must have been seriously magnificent. You’ve done a great job with these.
