2011/202: Showing Scale
My contribution to Scott’s latest assignment, even if it is a day past the deadline.
Thought about some fish scales, but we’re fresh out of fish 😉
Not exactly what I had in mind (I wanted to photograph a seashell on a coin… didn’t work out) but I was able to come up with something.
Thank you Karen for the coin idea. Without that, I would have had to skip the assignment – again!
Can you tell how big this is?
Now you have an idea!
Thats funny Michaela. I was looking for fish scales too – but couldnt find any in due time for the assignment.
It is a good illustration with the coin. Maybe the stone could have been anything between 1 and 12 inches.

Haha that’s so cool! It looked like a huge crater or something!

Ho, ho…fish scales. That would have been a fun spin on the assignment. Very cool and much smaller than I thought it was without the penny to show it.

I was actually thinking about some sort of reptile scales for the assignment, but never found them! Glad I was able to help you out a bit. Very cool agate!

Yes, I thought that it would be smaller until I saw the penny.

I thought it was smaller, too. Well done. 🙂

The coin put things into scale. Amazing how wonderful the beauty of this stone is?!!

I love these! I have book ends made from very large thunder eggs, and don’t tire of looking at them.

I didn’t realize how big it is until I saw the penny, really like the second shot.

Ya, it depends on how you put it in place.
